Chung-King Liu has a broad background in practical applications of nuclear/ radio chemistry and engineering This lecture is mainly about DOE’s legacy defense-related nuclear waste and overview of Hanford history. It includes waste treatment and immobilization plant project, nuclear separation chemistry fundamental, nuclear waste vitrification (glass chemistry), issues that drive new separation processes, and separation processes for closed fuel cycles. |

报告人简介： Dr. Liu is currently serving as a senior scientist/nuclear chemist with the United States Department of Energy. Dr. Liu has a broad background in practical applications of nuclear/ radiochemistry and engineering, including: nuclear fuel cycle and high level waste treatment research development and demonstration (RD&D); probability risk assessment (PRA); radioactive materials processing; nuclear waste management; radiation effects; materials and environmental testing/engineering; radiological safety; decontamination and decommissioning of nuclear facilities and sites; remediation of radioactively contaminated sites; environmental restoration; project management, chemical process safety management; nuclear standards development; nuclear criticality; technical information exchange; technology transfer to developing countries; recycle and reuse of mildly radioactive materials; and quality assurance programs and assessments. | |
